Cisse: Marseille return would be a dream

The QPR attacker, currently on loan at Al-Gharafa in Qatar, has expressed a desire to return to Ligue 1 and hinted at a possible future move to the US

QPR striker Djibril Cisse has claimed it would be a "dream" to return to Olympique de Marseille this summer.

The 31-year-old is currently on loan at Qatar outfit Al Gharafa after falling out of favour with the Premier League side and he has expressed a desire to return to the club for whom he made more 51 appearances between 2006 and 2009.

"If I come back to France one day, it will be to play in Ligue 1," Cisse told France Football. "It would be a dream to go back [to Marseille], of course, but there are many things that could cause this possibility to remain a dream."

The mercurial Cisse has played for the likes of Lazio, Panathinaikos, Sunderland and Liverpool since leaving Auxerre in 2004 and he has now hinted at trying his hand in America's MLS at some point before he retires from the game.

When asked if there were a league he would like to experience in future, he said: "The United States. I would like to experience living there and I know I can already speak a little [English]. But it will probably not be next season."
